Pilgrim in Oslo is a short hike from the city center to the ruins of Medieval Oslo. There are seven points of interest on the hike, which connect present-day Oslo, to the Oslo of the 1300s. The hike takes approx. 30 minutes, and the distance is 1,7 km.

1. 1. Tiger

The square in front of Oslo Central Station

The starting point of the hike is the square in front of Oslo Central Station- the busiest hub for travellers in our time: with 100 000 commuters daily.

3. 3. Hofudøya

Operastranda / Opera beach

Hovedøya Abbey, dedicated to St. Mary, was located on Hovedøya Island. The name of the island derives from the geological formation shaped like a head, the medieval term being "hofud".

4. 4. City borders

Odas bro

Rivers and watercourses form the natural boundaries of the city of Oslo. In the Middle Ages, the Akerselva was called Frysja.

5. 5. Bispekilen - a wedge in time

Bispekilen

Bispekilen is the name of the opening between buildings of Bjørvika, that allows for a direct line of sight between the old and the new city. It also gives an indication of the different sea levels.
