7. St. Hallvard Cathedral

St. Hallvard Cathedral

St. Hallvard's Cathedral, built in the 12th Century, featured several altars dedicated to various saints and religious figures. The main altar was dedicated to St. Hallvard, the patron saint of Oslo, and was the focal point of the cathedral. In addition, there were side altars dedicated to a.o. St. Olav, St. Nicholas, and the Virgin Mary. These altars played a significant role in the religious practices of the time, providing spaces for worship and reflection.

Snigill as St. Hallvard, complete with mill stone and arrows. Hallvard was a young nobleman martyred in 1043 while defending a pregnant woman accused of theft. Despite being killed (shot by arrows), and thrown into the sea with a millstone tied to his neck, his body resurfaced miraculously. This ultimately revealed the injustice he suffered, and led to his veneration.

Slowness.
